The synergy that is possible when all three areas are combined is powerful.
Career Transition and Outplacement Services
Support for Organizations
Properly caring for employees impacted by downsizing or restructuring initiatives requires careful planning and implementation. The Brighton Group not only provides hope, counsel and guidance to impacted employees but also preserves and strengthens our clients’ reputations with remaining employees and the business communities they touch. Our clients anticipate future employee needs and are intentional about protecting their employer brand, so they can continue to attract and retain top talent.
Working closely with leaders and decision makers allows us to quickly build programs that respond to their specific needs. Care is taken to understand the culture and longer-term vision of the organization. We ensure programs are suitable to the number of impacted employees, the type and tenure of the employees, and remain within the parameters created by available budget and timing.
Individual Outplacement Coaching
Individual Outplacement Coaching is designed for executive-, manager- and professional-level employees. It is thoughtfully constructed to meet the goals and needs of the individual. We are deeply committed to our time–tested, one-on-one coaching model that is delivered by a dedicated, senior consultant and can range in length from several weeks to a year, dependent on the position and tenure of the impacted individual.
Group Outplacement Coaching
Group Outplacement Coaching is most often utilized when a large number of employees are being transitioned across multiple geographic locations, the result of plant closures or when budget, timing or other circumstances do not allow for the depth of support provided by Individual Coaching programs.
Group programs are structured to meet the unique needs of the impacted employee group. Many of the topics covered in individual coaching are addressed within group sessions, though with a different presentation that allows individuals to support each other in the process. Care is taken to serve each member of the group so no one gets overlooked and everyone receives the support they need and deserve.
A Combination of Individual and Group Outplacement Services
Many companywide outplacement efforts are best served with a combination of individual and group efforts. When this occurs, we work closely with company leadership to develop the best possible coaching structure to fit its desired level of outplacement support and available budget. Mass layoffs, for example, create special challenges as people across many levels of the organization are affected. The more senior the position, the longer it generally takes to find a suitable position; more creativity is called for in networking and other job search skills.

Leadership Development
Great leaders are the difference between success and failure for business. The Brighton Group provides executive- and manager-level coaching that connects leadership skills to performance outcomes in a way that improves organizational performance and strengthens individual effectiveness.
Executive Coaching
Executive coaching is designed for director-level and C-level leadership. It is implemented with a focus on specific, outcome-based results. The coaching relationship supports leaders through the unique challenges they face at their level within an organization. It helps them focus on their own leadership brand, and keeps them on the cutting edge so leadership teams and the organization itself are sharper and better positioned in the marketplace. The Coach and the Executive might focus on vision casting and operational adjustments, or on advanced awareness of leveraging the talent expertise around them. Oftentimes, individual executive coaching leads to team building relative to the business and organizational challenges the leader faces.
High Potential Coaching
High potential coaching focuses on individuals identified as “rising stars” and equips them for future leadership roles within their organizations. There is a clear focus on developing skills and discernment in the areas of influence, motivation and leadership. This coaching might include assessments that identify individual performance-strengthening priorities. The overall goal is to assist the emerging leader in assimilating and developing a management and leadership style and brand that not only strengthens their success but also develops their ability to influence, motivate and lead others.
Performance Improvement Coaching
Performance improvement coaching assists employees at all levels of an organization to better understand the requirements of their job and the competencies needed to fulfill those requirements. It identifies the gaps in their current performance and initiates a detailed coaching plan to close gaps and change behavior. This coaching provides the most benefit to individuals who are successful in their current jobs but have specific behaviors or habits that interfere with their continued success and career goals in the workplace.
Onboarding Coaching
When new people join a team, it is critical that they get off on the right foot and build credibility efficiently. Coaching through the initial stages of this kind of transition supports them in getting up-to-speed quickly, asking the right questions so they can get out of their own way, and appreciating the distinctive elements of the corporate culture so they can have more influence sooner. Experience shows that those who are well supported in the early stages of a transition contribute faster and navigate the learning curve in a strategic way that brings others along with them. Everybody wins.
Organizational Consulting
There has never been a more crucial need to align organizational structure with business strategy. Leaders are being forced to rethink just about every aspect of existing business models; including defining the type, structure and size of organization they need for success.
The Brighton Group provides a series of consulting services to support leaders in their effort to achieve desired performance outcomes. These services include:
- Change management strategy and implementation
- Retention strategies
- Succession planning
- Human resources audits
- Team building initiatives
- Internal branding of departments to the rest of the organization
- Planning strategy and facilitation
- Team and individual performance improvement strategy
- Conflict resolution
- Cultural alignment following mergers and acquisitions
We carefully address both the desired business outcomes and the “people requirements” that are needed to gain the understanding of and produce successful outcomes.
Our approach starts with acquiring a solid understanding of the business goals and the current organizational dynamics and health. We then develop a transition plan designed to move the organization towards the desired outcomes.
Consulting Methodology:
- Identifying and prioritizing the organizational issues that must be addressed to achieve the desired business performance.
- Developing strategies to connect the current work environment and culture to the future vision.
- Identifying what initial and ongoing operational support is needed for success.
- Developing an implementation plan that anticipates and effectively leads employees through the change process that is often associated with organizational transition.
